Spider caught!

Beto Pimentel was good enough to comment on my last post, and to send me the following images capturing what happened as he read about my astronomical arachnids. Looks like Beto has the catching spider thing sorted!

  1. Hahahaha! Most likely the other way around. The specimen in question belongs to the Salticidae family (jumping spiders), known for jumping onto their prey and not setting a web to hunt. In any case, the method of presenting a picture of a much bigger spider on the screen of the computer seems to work much better than Maunder’s suggested one.
